This small (18m) native tree is perfect for most gardens. It's pink & white flowers signal that Spring has arrived. In autumn the leaves turn pink and the glossy dark red wild cherries are irresistible to birds. It is so pretty that it is widespread in streets, parks & gardens in the UK. The timber is as strong as Oak with a fine grain, suitable for furniture making, carving and turning.
